			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Norwich based catering equipment specialist, Ideal Catering asked our web design team to produce a new e-commerce website. The brief was to produce a site that was professional, easy to use and made lots of sales! Easy peasy, no problem (gulp!)</p>
<p>The first stage was to design the structure which allowed for hundreds (if not thousands of products) and make it simple for buyers to find what they want and buy.</p>

<p>Our web designers then created the design layouts for all the pages. The site was then built using our <a href="http://www.datadrum.com/drumblog/drumedit-content-management-system-from-datadrum/" target="_blank">DrumEdit Content Management System</a> with the site also having key word research and onpage search engine optimisation. The site is now selling stuff by the truck load so its another success for the website design team at our Norfolk base.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Norfolk Entrepreneur Andy Keats approached <a href="http://www.datadrum.com" target="_blank">DataDrum</a> with a great business idea he was launching and asked us to produce the branding, launch campaign and website for it. Andy had already been successful in the security ID market and had developed a new security ID product for horse riders offering 24/7 emergency support and help to horse riders and horses. <strong>Ride Alert</strong> was born and was launched at this years BETA International exhibition.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[DataDrum were appointed to redesign and develop the British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA) website to make it more user friend and up to date.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>BMRA (British Metals Recycling Association) are an organisation representing the £5 billion UK metal recycling sector. <a href="http://www.datadrum.com" target="_blank">DataDrum</a> were appointed to redesign and develop their website to bring it up to date.</p>
<p>The existing BMRA website was no longer an accurate reflection of how the majority of people were using it, therefore they required a new website that would help users find the information they wanted more easily, with a better structure and a modern design.</p>
<p>After reviewing user behaviour and website statistics for the website, DataDrum worked closely with BMRA to develop a revised website structure. The biggest structural shift was a move to very clearly defined sections, each of which was aimed at different segments of their wide audience. The other major change was breaking down the search result pages into a format that was easier to monitor so that traffic and usage patterns can be analysed more clearly.</p>
<p>The whole website was built on our <a href="http://www.datadrum.com/drumblog/drumedit-content-management-system-from-datadrum/">DrumEdit</a> Content Management System allowing BMRA to add and update their own content, including the page text, news, events and stolen metals alerts.</p>

<p>An advanced search facility was integrated into the website using a bespoke members database and postcode lookups so that end users can find the nearest relevant facilities to them. The members database was built into DrumEdit so that it could be managed by BMRA.</p>

Deep colours were chosen combined with a modern font to appeal to the discerning customer and set them apart from their competition. Hiltfields Ltd found <a href="http://www.datadrum.com">DataDrum</a> through the website we designed for <a href="http://www.deliascanarycatering.com" target="_blank">Delia&#8217;s Canary Catering</a> (Norwich City FC) and wanted a website and help with their general marketing. Their main market is the ready meal producer to mainstream supermarkets such as M&amp;S. Here&#8217;s what we did and are doing!</p>

<li>Design and build of a <a href="http://www.hiltfields.com" target="_blank">new website</a> with customer content management and on-going search engine optimisation and pay-per-click advertising.</li>
<li>A low-run, digitally printed, matt laminated brochure with new branding concepts in an unusual size which was posted in transparent plastic envelope to save high cost envelopes/postage and create maximum interest when it hit desks.</li>
<li>An annual wall planner echoing the website and brochure but in a style that anyone would be proud to display on their wall.</li>

<p>We suggested a European approach to the website as translations are low cost and easy to flag-up on any site. With the state of the pound they are in a very strong position to export! We took the approach of strong imagery and demonstrating their ability to produce exciting tastes and recipes ready for market in an exceptional timeframe. They really can produce any recipe required so we suggested sending unsolicited samples to selected potential customers complete with Kettle crisps to use as dips! The website has many pages optimised for specific product items such as Dip Pots to achieve high Google rankings.</p>

<p>The proof of any marketing activity is sales and profitability. Hiltfields Ltd are experiencing increased enquiries which are already turning into greater sales. But of course, marketing is but one element of the mix/recipe! Investment in technology, people such as their team of food technologists and a wealth of food knowledge and experience are all essential elements of their success &#8211; but every element in any business needs to be assessed from its marketing viewpoint and effectiveness in that all important sales mix.</p>

<p>Fläkt Woods are a market leading fan manufacturer and Datadrum were asked to launch a new warranty scheme that was unique to the industry. The target audience was Heating and Ventilating Contractors and we needed to quickly raise awareness of the new scheme.</p>

<h3>The message</h3>
<p>Our creative team developed the &#8220;Don&#8217;t Gamble with other people&#8217;s fans&#8221; message. We wanted the message to be simple and aggressive in an uncompromising market. We also wanted to state that only Fläkt Woods had the confidence in their products reliability to offer such a warranty. The dice imagery and message was presented to the client who didn&#8217;t need much persuading.</p>
<h3>The delivery</h3>
<p>An integrated B2B campaign was devised to cost effectively target the market over 3 months. The campaign was launched at the HV07 exhibition, NEC in March 07. The stand included a giant dice to gain as much interest as possible.</p>
<p>The &#8220;Don&#8217;t Gamble &#8221; campaign was then rolled out across ads in trade press, direct mail to the top 200 contractors and distributors, trade press coverage and interviews and email and internet marketing.</p>

<h3>The results</h3>
<p>Enquiries have been flooding in and feedback has been very positive, The campaign has achieved a high awareness in the industry and has strengthened Fläkt Woods position as a market leader based on quality and reliability.</p>

<h3>MLM&#8217;s wish list</h3>
<p><strong>Easy to manage site content.</strong> MLM are a successful company and they required their new website to communicate this. The website would need to show latest news, new projects won, projects recently completed and current job opportunities. MLM wanted to be fully in control of all the website content and to be able to update it frequently with no fuss.</p>
<p><strong>Strong navigation. </strong>Having three distinct areas of engineering expertise it was important that people could easily find and identify the information they require.</p>
<p><strong>Modern design. </strong>The website needed to reflect MLM&#8217;s brand, combining a modern approach with traditional values.</p>

<h3>The Work</h3>
<p><strong>Content management system.</strong> Being able to keep the site up to date in-house required Datadrum&#8217;s content management system with some bespoke additions. Multiple logins mean that different MLM staff can easily update the sections of the website that they are responsible for.</p>
<p><strong>Structure and planning.</strong> Datadrum created a new site map by breaking down MLM&#8217;s existing site into components, adding new ones, and redesigning the structure and navigation from the ground up. The result: a structure that is easy to follow for both people and search engines. It also enabled easy cross-referencing of content using the content management system.</p>
<p><strong>Problem solving.</strong> The answer to presenting the three distinct service areas was to use clear colour coding. Each individual sector of the business is colour coded throughout the website making them visually easy to distinguish and therefore enhancing navigation for users.</p>

<p>Barnfield College is a multi-location College based in Luton and the surrounding area. It offers a wide range of Full Time and Part Time courses for local and national students.</p>
<h3>The Objectives</h3>
<p>The website needed a substantial redevelopment to be more appealing, easier to use and to portray a more unified College that had over 5 different locations throughout the Luton area.</p>

<p>The new website also needed to meet accessibility standards and have a content management system to allow the Barnfield College webmaster to update content inhouse.</p>
<h3>The Strategy</h3>
<p>Following consultation with the College the main target audience was defined as young people aged 16-25. From our previous work with this age group we know they generally prefer colourful, un-cluttered design and representative images.</p>

<p>We wanted to bring the website alive and also make it different to other College websites which tend to look cluttered and samey. Various design ideas were produced and tested on young people before deciding on the final design.</p>
<h3>The Solution</h3>
<p>The home page is designed to have impact with images of young people that alternate and are accompanied by aspirational slogans. The home page is clearly branded and navigation is extremely simple allowing browsers to find information quickly.</p>

<p>The content pages again follow a simple two column format with navigation tools built in.
