Dron & Dickson are an established company supplying specialist electrical products and services to industry. They specifically work in hazardous areas such as offshore, industrial and chemical where safety is paramount.
the brief
Our brief was to design and build a new website that reflects their market leading position, works as a vastly improved marketing tool for new and existing companies and produces regular sales enquiries.
the response
We started by investigating their competitors website offerings and positioning. This tied in with the re-branding project that DataDrum were also working on for Dron & Dickson, so we really wanted to establish where Dron & Dickson stood in their marketplace.
The target audience is dominated by male engineers so our team of web designers in Norwich started working on ideas that would appeal to them. Content was researched and we knew from the previous website statistics that the main content sought by visitors would be products and services, therefore these were the main focus of the new design.
Our Content Management System, DrumEdit, was built into the website to allow Dron & Dickson to control their website content inhouse. As part of this, a bespoke online product catalogue was developed that allowed visitors to search an extensive product database by manufacturer, product category and type. Visitors can also save products in a “shopping cart” and submit their cart to receive a quote.
During the website development, keyword research was carried out by our web team to identify the main terms likely to be used to find their website. These words were then incorporated into the website in key places.
